“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire” — W.B. Yeats

Brief Statement of Teaching Philosophy:

My teaching philosophy is based on the following four principles:
1) A teacher’s first and foremost duty is to develop an effective method to communicate knowledge, such that it not only inspires students towards learning the subject, but
also allows them to relate the learnt concepts with interesting practical problems.
2) I believe in active engagement of students in the class sessions, by encouraging students to ask questions and participate in discussions.
3) A teacher must spend considerable time in designing and preparing lecture notes, focusing on effective communication, time management, and alignment of lecture contents
with the overall aim of the course. A well-planned course always leads to an effective execution and maximises student learning.
4) Teaching is a lifelong learning process, and as a teacher we should be open to learning ourselves as much as committed to ensure student learning.
Through continuing self-assessment, a teacher can ensure a functional educational environment where students from diverse backgrounds and motives could gain maximum
benefits from the course contents.
